FAQs

  • What to consider when buying skates?

What to consider when buying skates?

Skating in skates that don't fit your feet can ruin the whole experience of playing hockey and ultimately hamper your game. The right fit and model of skate will help you get the most out of your skating. It is important that the skates have the right fit and size and that they are adapted both to your weight and how frequently they will be used.

  • How should skates fit for the best experience?

How should skates fit for the best experience?

It is important to find a skate with the right fit that gives you good comfort and sits stably on the foot so that you get good contact with the ice. A skate should fit as tightly as possible on the foot, but children/young people who are growing should have 8-15 mm of growth.

  • What can I expect from your skates?

What can I expect from your skates?

With us at Hockeystore you will find skates for all athletes. In our wide range of skates you will find a large variety of models from leading brands on the market, such as Bauer, CCM and True. We have skates for both elite players and beginners.

  • What should you keep in mind when lacing hockey skates?

What should you keep in mind when lacing hockey skates?

When lacing skates, it’s important that they fit tightly to provide stability. If you are inexperienced, it may feel uncomfortable at first, because skates should fit tighter than regular shoes. At the same time, you shouldn’t lace them too tightly, as this can cause foot pain. A good basic rule is to start a bit looser at the bottom, lace tighter in the middle, and finish at the top with a very tight lacing.

  • What sizes apply for hockey skates for children and juniors?

What sizes apply for hockey skates for children and juniors?

For children and juniors, we offer the sizes Yth and Jr. In Yth, the sizes range from 6–13, and in Jr from 1–3.5. These are skate sizes. Size 6–13 in Yth corresponds to European shoe sizes 23.5–33, and 1–3.5 in Jr corresponds to 33.5–36.5. To know which skate size to choose, you can either visit one of our stores, where our knowledgeable staff will help you with any questions. You can also use your regular shoe size and compare it with our size chart, which is always available under the product description. It is important to check the size chart for the specific product you are buying, as different brands use different charts. If you are between two sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller one, as skate sizes tend to run smaller rather than larger.

  • Where can you find the size chart for hockey skates?

Where can you find the size chart for hockey skates?

You will always find the size chart on the product page, below the description. It clearly shows which skate size corresponds to which shoe size. It is important to check the chart on the correct product, as different brands have their own size charts.
